STAYING HEALTHY’ISH WHILE CAMPING

HAPPY NEW YEARS, kinda.

Sooo normally Luke and I are scrolling through line-ups and planning our transport to and from a festival for New Years, however we decided to head out to a mini escape this time around, and go camping – I know, how random? But I couldn’t be happier!

5 days of connecting with nature instead of nursing a hangover { or in my case a dance over – disclaimer I don’t drink } just seemed way more appealing to me this year.

ANYWAY, I actually created this blog post because I mentioned on my Instagram stories yesterday { @candibod } that I would compile a shopping list and ‘don’t forget’ list for you guys to refer to when/if you ever decided to choose camping over partying #jokes

I ALWAYS end up over packing, but these lists help me keep somewhat in line with what I actually need. I also chose to use ‘One Cart’ to grab all of my goodies to stay clear of the holiday madness that is most malls currently, not to mention their service fee works out to be cheaper than the petrol I use, the parking ticket and the de-stressing app I find myself using during the post-festive season shopping mall experience.

Okay enough nonsense talking, let’s start with my foodie list:

This is more or less what I’ll be taking up for the week. As you can see, I have taken away most ‘snacking’ elements as I really do try eat more whole foods these days. I find that taking the time to fully prepare what you eat creates such an important relationship with food; one that I feel we are starting to lose with the more ‘instant’ versions of meals.

And besides, I’ll be in the middle of nowhere with all the time in the world, so why not spend it cooking REAL food.

Happy Camping kiddos,

Cands
